Amy Tang: The Form of Territories
The Form of Territories: Spread/ Collapse/ Resistance/ Paralysis and Others is a solo show by the local Hong Kong artist Amy Tang Wing-yin, which applies and extends this field of thought and can also be seen as a resistance to homogenization.
The work yields a well-defined form of the effective anti-plane shear modulus of the periodic unidirectional fiber-reinforced medium, where the spatial unification and uniformity eliminate the differences between territories, excessive information, and mirror interchange have neutralized the uniqueness of the relationship.
A space without boundaries is dead and numbing. The artist tries to practice perception in the swing of dissolving and reconstructing the domain, and accepting and repelling. Various conflicting situations are opposed to the daily integrity, smoothness, and beauty. Differences and incompleteness are just the channels leading to other places. The thresholds and fences established by the borders of works are the division and possession of jurisdictions, and at the same time, they are also the means to perceive others. the channel and the interface of the other of imagining the other.
