The Labyrinth of Solitude

The Labyrinth of Solitude is a group exhibition curated by Cyrus Lamprecht, which featuring the work by Tobe Kan, Lio Sze-mei, Ashlee Ip, Lau Hong-lam, Kwan Yung-yee, Belinda HY Chan, Kiki Lee Tsz-ki, Leung Pui-yi, Manny Yip, and Jason Ho.

Drawing inspiration from the Minotaur and the Labyrinth in Greek mythology, this group exhibition delves into themes of loneliness and the dynamics of master-slave relationships. May you uncover the palimpsest of ancient tales and find a moment of peace as you enter the maze of solitude.

In Greek mythology, King Minos of Crete constructed a labyrinth within the depths of the Knossos Palace to imprison the Minotaur, a creature with the head of a bull and the body of a man. Captives and prisoners from within the kingdom were sent to the labyrinth as punishment, becoming prey to the Minotaur when attempting to escape.

Within the confines of this solitary space, individuals gaze upon their fate while anxiously awaiting a moment of oversight.

Congratulations to Cyrus Lamprecht. I am so happy to have been invited to another exhibition curated by you. Wish you a successful event.
