Michael Lau: Splendid Park
Splendid Park is a solo exhibition by the Hong Kong artist Michael Lau, which showcases nearly 40 paintings and sculptures that is a series of milestone works in his creative journey, including Gardener, Package-Change, First Encounter, Soliloquy, Master, Flower, and Portrait, etc.
The artist traces his artistic training from three-dimensional creation to painting medium with scattered and unified visual symbols, aesthetic practice between abstraction and representation, playful surreal deconstruction, and appropriation of classic themes and images in art history that juxtaposed with wantonly and accurately presenting personal experience narratives, positive and splendid life philosophy in the picture leading the viewer to the garden of the artist's state of mind.
