Frank Walter: Pastorale

Pastorale is a solo exhibition of work by Antiguan artist, writer, and polymath Frank Walter, which features paintings and works on paper, showcasing his vast oeuvre, which spans a variety of media, styles, and formats, including those produced on supports such as Polaroid film boxes, mosquito coil boxes and scraps of sketchpad covers.

A selection of Caribbean landscapes, as well as a series of small-scale paintings depicting Scottish meadows, reveal the artist's unique use of color and his personal vision of the places where he lived, traveled, and imagined. His landscape paintings display a keen eye for color and texture, emitting a profound sense of light and calm in even the smallest works, and explore his personal artistic pursuits, resulting in a series of intimate and emotionally charged landscapes, Colorful wildflower meadows and rolling hills are depicted.
