The solo exhibition of Chak at Fringe 2023 showcases the intention of the artist to depict the essence of the natural world, encompassing mountains, forests, and the expansive sky which is a manifestation of his "electrocardiogram."
Graffiti has always been an important part of the artist's life, whether it is fun as a child or escapism as an adult. In the late 1970s, he encountered the problem of "how to take the next step in Chinese painting" in college, and the question extended to "how should Hong Kong painters face the world". In an ephemeral moment, he experienced a sense of ignorance weighing heavily upon him, as if an oppressive pressure constricted his very breath, even if it occasionally resurfaced and was reminiscent of a haunting nightmare.
