Artist Yan Kallen has studied and worked in foreign countries for many years, and often participates in exhibitions in foreign galleries and museums. Even so, he still regards Hong Kong as his home. After returning from Kyoto, he took pictures of his understanding and feelings about the city of Hong Kong in the form of traditional Chinese painting and the epiphany of Zen Buddhism in the Song Dynasty.
In this city, old houses are demolished every day, and there are construction projects in progress everywhere. When you turn a street corner, you will encounter brand-new high-rise buildings that appear out of thin air. The artist revisited the place where he left traces in his memory before leaving Hong Kong in his childhood. The whole book begins with his grandparents' home, Pak Hung House in Choi Wan Estate, Ngau Chi Wan. It's just that, in this place surrounded by high concrete walls, this city that is good at forgetting, how should the memory be placed correctly?
