Aruta Soup: Ruins

Ruins is a solo exhibition by the captivating artistic realm of Aruta Soup, which showcases a fusion of social commentary and self-reflection, the work fundamentally addresses the contradictions and psychological struggles of modern society.

The artist's visual lexicon - the bandaged rabbit character named "ZERO", which often appears injured but recovering, represents the inner struggle and optimism in the artist's unique worldview. His artistic language touches the heart of British street art, particularly during his studies at Camberwell College of Art in London, where he was deeply influenced by the graffiti and club scenes of East London. The work resonates with elements of Western culture such as cartoons, funny drawings and graffiti art visible on the streets.

The exhibition delves into an exploration of the possibilities and complexities inseparable from the 21st century, while anticipating the inevitable decline of his work under the test of time. The artist recalls an unusual mural painted by an unidentified graffiti artist that he discovered near an abandoned building years ago. As the building was later demolished, the spray-painted pattern reappeared and was etched into the cracked bricks, triggering a profound epiphany for him, and described his feelings as a "Sense of Romance” " when he discovered the mysterious piece of art while being immersed in the subtle beauty found in the ruins.
