Yukimasa Ida: DAY ZER0

DAY ZER0 is a solo exhibition by the Japanese artist Yukimasa Ida @yukimasaida that challenges viewers to embrace change as we navigate the evolving future, urging us to reconsider our interconnectedness in time and space.

The exhibition is structured into three segments: starting from 30,067 AD, the artist captures remnants of a past era, evoking memories and nostalgia through the contemplative brushstrokes of ”In Space.“ A series of sculptures resembling spiritual icons from the 20th century are also featured. The display of lush oceans and mountains highlights nature‘s power, while ”Ark“ contemplates the balance between transience and eternity. The final scene, ”Zero Hour,“ transitions into the ”Hour of Rebirth,“ drawing inspiration from Courbet’s ”The Painter‘s Studio“ to blend past, present, and future in a reverent celebration of the universe.

Expanding on his exploration of the rare encounter event, he portrays the fleeting beauty of human connections spanning millennia. Amidst rapid technological advancements, this science fiction narrative offers reflection, hope, and renewal. Through a fusion of technical skill and profound concepts across various forms and mediums, the artist leads us on a cosmic journey, examining the ebb and flow of identity within the broader context of shared existence.

Thank you so much for the tour. Love it so much, dear
